With its relative flatness and quiet lanes, Ynys Môn is ideal for recreational cycling. The signposted cycle tours established by Menter Môn in 1997 enable visitors and locals alike to enjoy the quieter rural byways. On the island there are very few opportunities for 'off road' cycling, and so all the tours follow public roads or lanes, but avoid main roads as much as possible. Inevitably there is some climbing from time to time, but the effort is rewarded with views across the finest scenery. The routes are designed to link places of interest. These include tourist attractions (such as Henblas Country Park and Llynnon Mill); sites of archaeological interest such as Din Lligwy; villages (for refreshments); and places chosen for their scenic beauty such as Black Point at Penmon and Bodafon Mountain.
